Vassal of Decadence's sophomore album Taking the Throne is a concept album. It revolves around someone who is born and corrupted by the world. This person becomes obsessed by the idea of glory and power. A twisted leader of a rebellious group convinces this person to join them in the fight against the powers that are currently in place. In return, the leader promises to fulfill his desires. Through constant fighting and recruiting, the rebel group eventually becomes the majority. During the final battle, the good in this person hesitates and ponders if what they are doing is just. In the end, the once innocent person, for better or worse, takes control of the world as a puppet for the old rebellious leader's depraved cause.
